TEEN SUCCESS SYMPOSIUM BUSINESS PLAN
Teen Success founded by visionary John A. Andrews, is an empowerment organization, designed to empower Teens in maximizing their full potential to be successful and contributing citizens in the world. John is from a home of educators; his five sisters taught school – two acquiring the status of school principals. There, he saw firsthand the benefits of a great education. Though self educated, John has written several books on relationships, personal development, as well as fiction and non–fiction. As the co-parent of his three teenage sons, he was moved to etch one of his latest, Dare To Make A Difference - Success 101 For Teens.
While writing the introduction to that book, John decided to visit the local bookstore, to see what their shelves had on “personal development” for teens. It took the booksellers a while to locate the tiny section, which shelved only five books in that genre. He then visited the adult section, where hundreds of titles were displayed for adults in that genre. He pondered the deficit, understanding that it is a lot easier to educate a child than to rehab an adult. John Andrews completed his book, sent it to print, and founded Teen Success.
The organization held its first Teen Success Symposium on December 12th 2009. The teens and parents, who attended that event, bear testimony of its great success. A second Symposium was held on May 21st and 22nd and a third is scheduled for September 18th 2010. Hundreds of teens are expected to be in attendance. With the sense of community gushing through its veins, he decided to involve other teens, by video streaming “LIVE” the event – internationally, as well as, at designated locations in each U.S. state and Canadian province. Part of the proceeds will go towards donating books for the schools and library's that need to be rebuilt in Haiti, and Keep a Child Alive.
Additionally, Andrews has already organized a team, including education consultants, for the purpose of shaping a “Success Curriculum”, aligned with the appropriate subject content standards, aimed at Middle School and High School students. The vision of this program also includes providing teacher support in the form of training and coaching. Several of these two entities have already expressed interest in adding this new, missing link, to their school curriculum. This core curriculum could be made available this summer and will be introduced and taught at the Teaching Teachers How To Teach SUCCESS Seminar in July and August. Meanwhile, Teen Success is getting ready to unleash Teen Success Magazine – Today Starts Me, an online publication designed to develop well rounded teens.
